 DJ Dynamic

 Drum n Bass DJ

 Official site - www.lowdowndnb.com

 Contact - dynamicplays4u@yahoo.co.uk

Having been DJing for just over 11 years, Dynamic has been part of one of the biggest transitions in modern drum n bass music. From the days of “The chopper” to the recent days of tunes like Pendulum’s “Another Planet” and Subfocus’s “Airplane”, Dynamic has been part of the movement both as a clubber and a DJ. Dynamic started playing out after just two years of spinning tunes, doing what most new DJs do, warming up for others, but you soon come to find in this scene that it’s not what you know, its who you know, or even who hears you. Too many new young DJ’s come onto the scene thinking they can take on the world, but put them in front of a crowd and the promoter ends up with egg on their face.

When Dynamic was at university the annual DJ competition came around and the ambition to win it as well as promote the pure sound of drum n bass was too much to resist, so Dynamic sent a mix tape in to find two days later that he was chosen along with six others out of about a hundred DJs to battle it out in the student union night club. He would soon come to learn that this would be one of my most significant moves he would ever make as a DJ. When the announcement came out that he hadn’t placed third or second he really thought all was lost, but when they announced the winner, Dynamic was now given the chance to run his own night which we called “Back to Drum n Bassix”. All top name DJs were playing at his nights including the RAM team, Nicky Blackmarket and DJ Hype, all of which he played along side. Unfortunately the night would only last as long as he was a dirty student at university and as we all know all good things must come to an end.

Finding an agent turned out to be much harder than he thought it would be, he persisted in sending out e-mails to various agencies but they all turned out to be agencies who charged the DJ signing on fees and other little hidden costs, who seemed more interested in getting your money rather than finding you sets. Dynamic did eventually find an internet based agency that was well known on Google, and proceeded to sign up to be represented by them. Soon after his sign up various sets started coming in at a steady rate, and he proceeded to play at various nights around the country. On top of this started to get his first DJ sets abroad. These nights included a night in Austria for the Redbull snowboard super pipe competition and a night in the United States at a club called Down under which was based in the city of Denver, Colorado. When the summer of 2005 was approaching he received an offer of a job to fly out to Zante in Greece and play in a nightclub for the whole summer. This would be to play seven days a week playing two hour sets each night. He can honestly say this was one of the best experiences of his life and furthered his DJing experience to a level that other DJs would do very well to challenge. Many Good things have been going on since these times to present day.

Recently his name changed from Kinetic which he has had for 9 years to Dynamic due to another producer bringing out a record under the same name. Dynamic has a couple of projects on the go at the moment. The smallest is playing nights for Sub-Factory at various venues in Reading. He is also currently promoting/DJing at a night called Futureformz:Underground along with Carlos and Flewid. They have had the likes of TC, Chase and Status, Clipz, Fearless and SP to name but a few. The night continues to grow and there are already plans afoot to move it to a larger venue. Watch this space... Dynamic has also joined forces with another well known Reading DJ called EQ. They have gone into production together and they both promote every Saturday at the Purple Turtle, Reading called, Lowdown.
